How refreshing (as a Notts supporter) to read a decent piece of journalism on this at last. The national press and their recent journalistic efforts look infantile in comparison to this piece.

    Top notch.

    Nice read.

Interesting, but you might want to take take out the “So far, Munto’s record isn’t good. They tried to illegally end a groundsharing arrangement with Nottingham Rugby Club”, as there was a contract dispute but no criminal illegality.

You’re right, Andy, in that there was no criminal illegality. It was the courts who ruled against Munto’s effort, which is why I used the phrase. But better to be safe than sorry, so, yes, sound advice. Ta.

And, of course, there may be MUCH harsher things to say about Munto if Andy Cole is right about Sol Campbell leaving Meadow Lane because of lack of “Munto finance”.

    An excellent read.

It is interesting to see a number of articles in the national press this morning make connections between Munto Finance and individuals associated with the Belgravia Group. Meanwhile others have raised questions about how contracts were structured, so that Sol was reportedly earning a significant proportion of his wages to be an ambassador.

What is for certain is that the identity of the financial backers QADBAK remains a mystery. Legally this should be easily resolved (although it still begs the question why these people are so determined to remain anonymous). Morally, I would argue that the supporters have every right to know who owns their football club, not that this will bother the likes of Trembling.

So how are Notts going to be financially sustainable if Munto keep throwing money at big-name signings? Improved gates won’t even touch the sides. And why the concern with appointing high profile people behind the scenes when they can’t get the basic customer service right?

    They are worrying times.
